Become a Member of GAIPED

If you are an organisation that works with people with Parkinson’s, anywhere in the world, we invite you to join our society and become a member of GAIPED. GAIPED is passionate about ethnic diversity and equity of care in Parkinson’s globally.

Historically and currently, pharamceutical led clinical trials have focussed almost exclusively on White Caucasian patients (people with Parkinson’s: See Lau et al Journal of Parkinson’s Disease 12 (2022) 975–981; DOI 10.3233/JPD-213113) when important differences in clinical efficacy of several drugs used for Parkinson’s exists. As such, when clinical trials are set in diverse population base, it is important to have a trial population reflecting the population from where patients are recruited.
